A Busy Week – Teaching starts

This week is the start of the teaching week. It is a busy week for sure because despite this year having less lectures spanning across different days, we now have much longer lectures over the course of two days.

On Tuesday we have our Product Research module lecture which will run from 9:30 AM until 5:00 PM. It will be a lot of information to take in but equally I am looking forward to it.

On Thursday, I have a metal machining workshop induction that will take up half of the day running from 8:45 AM until approximately 12:00 PM. On top of that, it is also the start of our Historical and Critical Studies module lecture. It will run from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. It is a very interesting element of the course because it tackles the historical side of design, why certain products are perceived as iconic and so on.

On Friday, I have signed up for a day trip to the Daily Living Centre to look at various products that designers have produced for the ageing generation. This will be a good chance to observe some of the positives and negatives that have arisen as a result of the products.
