A Busy Upcoming Week

The upcoming week is going to busy in terms of plans that I have but also in the technology and entertainment world.

For starters, at the end of this week I am going to be attending The Business Show in ExCeL London as a representative of Well Founded Limited. It will be my first time attending that event and I am looking forward to a range of seminars and workshops that will be held during the two days. Most notably, James Caan (who has featured on Dragon’s Den) will be there on the second day of The Business Show to give a seminar. It will be interesting to hear from a lot of people in the business world and what there tips are for the keys to success. Of course it will be a very tiresome day as I am sure there will be a lot of sitting and walking around on top of interacting with a lot of people. I am looking forward to the event to further enhance my knowledge of business.

The next few days consist of Apple’s WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) which takes place in San Francisco. A lot of rumours have hinted that Apple will be showcasing their latest instalment of operating systems, iOS 7. There has been great talk of Sir Jony Ive wanting to flatten the whole user interface and give the iOS a refreshing overhaul. I am intrigued but also anxious, the skeuomorphic previous versions of iOS we have all become accustomed to will potentially be changed into an interface that we may not like at first, but with time grow into liking it. However, I trust Apple and cannot wait to see what is unveiled. I also expect some showcasing of their new operating system for the Mac to be featured. I wonder what they may call it, they are definitely running out of big cats by now!

On top of that, there will also be the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) which takes place in Los Angeles. Starting on the same day as WWDC, it is going to involve flicking between the WWDC keynote and Microsoft’s keynote. E3 this year will be huge, not only because of the new games that will be previewed for the first time but also because of the fact that we will be given more information about the next generation consoles. We already know what the next generation XBox looks like but Sony have yet to unveil what the next generation PlayStation looks like. There were rumours about the reasons why they did not show it at their reveal event back in February is because they did not have a finalised design.

Finally, to round off WWDC and E3, The Last of Us is released! This is a game that I have been heavily anticipating and following closely ever since the first trailer was shown back in 2011. It is a game being developed by Naughty Dog, the creators of the Uncharted franchise and other huge hits such as, Crash Bandicoot and max & Daxter. From what I have seen from the trailers and gameplay demos this is definitely going to be a game that rivals the likes of Bioshock Infinite for Game of The Year.

I am excited for this upcoming week, it will be fairly tiring but by the end of it there will hopefully be answers to questions and rumours that have been flying around!
